Catch-ups, monthly and quarterly bookkeeping for Australian small businesses and the accountants who look after them. Done in the software you already use, or none at all. Reconciled to the cent, with a fixed quote before any work starts.
Why Clearsum
Work happens in the software you already use, by someone in your time zone who knows how Australian GST and BAS work.
Every bank and card transaction coded and matched, so what's in your books is exactly what's in the bank.
Your accountant gets clean numbers and a short list of questions answered, so tax and BAS time is quicker and cheaper.
You know the price before anything starts. Nothing extra is charged unless you agree to it first.
Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks Online or another program. No software at all? Work can be done straight from your bank statements.
Sound familiar?
Who it's for
Small businesses that would rather spend their time on the work that pays, and the accountants who look after them.
What you get
Alongside reconciled books, you get a one-page summary you can read in two minutes, so you always know where the business stands.
Income, expenses and what's left, compared with last month.
Overdue invoices to chase and bills coming up in the next two weeks.
Anything that needs your answer, so nothing gets guessed.
Ready for your accountant: all accounts reconciled to 30 September.
Pricing
Pick the plan that fits, or ask for a tailored quote if your books are bigger, messier or need something different.
For books that have fallen behind.
Books kept clean all year round.
For sole traders and quieter businesses.
Mix and match
Most businesses that are behind need both. Combine them in one quote so your books go straight from caught up to kept current, with no gap in between.
Tailored quote
Describe what you need and you'll get a fixed quote built around your business, often better value than a standard plan.
For accountants and BAS agents
You keep the tax and BAS work. Clearsum takes the grunt work that slows it down: catch-ups for clients who arrive with a shoebox, and monthly or quarterly bookkeeping for clients you refer, kept ready for your team to review and lodge.
How it works
Send a rough idea of what you need. You'll get a fixed quote, usually within a day.
Invite Clearsum to your accounting software, or send bank statement exports, plus any receipts and invoices.
Usually within 10 business days, with a short list of anything you need to check.
Who you'll deal with
I work in finance day to day, in accounts payable, treasury and reconciliations. I started Clearsum so small businesses get one person who knows their file, a fixed price, and books they can rely on.
Clearsum doesn't lodge tax or BAS, run payroll or give tax advice. Your books are kept ready for your accountant.
Questions
Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online, plus other cloud accounting programs on request. If you already use one, you invite Clearsum as a user and the work happens in your file. No software at all? The work can be done straight from your bank statement exports, or you can get set up in the software that suits you.
Yes. Most businesses that are behind start with a catch-up and move straight onto monthly or quarterly bookkeeping. You can combine them, or add extras like bills and invoicing admin, in one tailored quote.
The plans cover most small businesses. Before anything starts, you get a fixed quote based on your accounts and transaction volume, and that price doesn't change unless you agree to extra work first. If a plan doesn't fit, ask for a tailored quote.
Send a rough idea of how far behind you are and you'll get a fixed quote before work starts.
No. Clearsum isn't a registered BAS agent, so BAS lodgement and payroll stay with your accountant or BAS agent. Your books are kept ready so they can lodge quickly.
Work only happens through the access you give in your file. Clearsum never asks for bank logins, never makes payments from your accounts, and keeps your records confidential. Clearsum is professionally insured.
Catch-ups are invoiced when the work is done, with 7 days to pay. Monthly and quarterly plans are invoiced each period. There's a simple written agreement before any work starts.
No. Clearsum is based in Sydney, but everything is done remotely, so it works with businesses anywhere in Australia.
